Waxing will get you nowhere. The heat does not target the papilla, which is what makes the hair grow. The root does not make the hair grow. Waxing often causes ingrown hair. A family has spent the last few years in the courts and before Congress, getting this idea mandated. The want law that stipulates that a numbing agent to decrease pain, must be administered with a full usage disclosure. Their daughter put on such an agent and died on the way to her appointment. Tattoos

Lasers cannot remove hairs that are within a tattoo. This is because the lasers used for laser hair removal and laser tattoo removal function the same way, by targeting dark colors. Lasers will target dark hairs and dark tattoo pigment. Most tattoos use black ink for the outline of the tattoo, so the laser will target these areas and break down the ink particles. A laser cannot differentiate between what is a hair follicle and what is tattoo pigment. For this reason, lasers cannot remove hairs near a tattoo without also destroying the tattoo.

Electrolysis is safe for tattoos. Tattoo ink resides in the upper layer of the dermis, near the epidermis. Hair follicles reside in the lower portion of the dermis near the fat. When the probe used for electrolysis is inserted, it goes past the tattoo pigment to reach the hair follicle, but the tattoo is not affected. An insulated probe is ideal for treating hairs near tattoos because the insulated probe will protect the upper regions of the dermis by only treating the lower portion of the dermis where the hair follicle lives.
